Model Co Highlighting Trio Review

Model co highlighting trio.jpg

A couple months ago I received the Model Co highlighting trio in my Birchbox. It is the first Model Co product I have tried and I’ve been loving it! There are three shades Champagne, Peach Bellini and Bronze, and they are all cream highlighters.img_0042

I mainly use the champagne shade as it is the perfect highlighting shade for me. Peach bellini is very pink toned so it could be good for adding a shimmer or highlight over your blusher; and Bronze is really good as an eyeshadow.

The consistency is quite thick so it can be difficult to blend it out; I start with a small amount and build it up so it doesn’t look patchy. They are very pigmented and glittery so a little goes a long way! It is great for travelling as it is small and compact.

Pros and Cons:

Pros

  • It is great for travelling.
  • Well pigmented.

Cons

  • I only use one of the shades.
  • The individual shades are expensive (£28).
  • Difficult to blend in.

I’m not the biggest fan of the consistency because it’s very thick. The champagne shade is a really good highlighter but the other shades are just not the best colours. I would recommend it if you like cream products or are looking for a really nice cream highlighter.

Rimmel London: Oh My Gloss Review

rimmel-london-oh-my-gloss

I have been completely obsessed with the Rimmel London Oh My Gloss lip gloss in the shade Snog.  The shade is really natural and adds a glossy shiny look to my lips without looking overpowering.

img_0039

The gloss itself isn’t sticky or thick so it feels really nice on the lips. It applies evenly and smooth and doesn’t leave your lips looking patchy. You only need to apply a thin layer to get a naturally looking shine. I prefer not to make mine to thick but it’s really easy to build up if you want a shinier look. I find this gloss really helps to define my lip shape and is very nourishing and soft. It claims to last up to 6 hours and despite me not actually agreeing with this it does last a long time compared to other lip glosses.

img_0040

The packaging is really nice and is easy to throw in your bag. There are lots of different shades in the range which I am yet to try out. The overall range has a neutral theme with very natural looking shades, however there are a few brighter colours.  I don’t know how good the brighter shades would be but if it’s anything like this one then I definitely want to try them out.

Pros and Cons:

Pros

  • Doesn’t feel sticky on my lips.
  • Not too expensive (£5.49).
  • Lots of different shades in the range.

Cons

  • Does not last as long as it claims.

Let me know if you have tried out any of the lip glosses in the Oh My Gloss range and let me know what you thought!

Benefit Hoola Bronzer Review

Benefit hoola bronzer

For as long as I can remember I have wanted the Benefit Hoola Bronzer but I could never commit to spending that much on a bronzer. For my birthday my boyfriend surprised me with it! It was the best present and I am completely obsessed with it!

IMG_0866

The Benefit Hoola Bronzer is perfect for both day and night as it is easy to build up. For an everyday look I apply it very lightly just to add a little contour and a natural bronzed look. For an evening look I apply it slightly darker, but I still stick with a natural look. Despite me loving matte products I don’t usually go for a matte bronzer but I LOVE this  one so much and it has replaced both my Rimmel London and The Body Shop bronzers. It is one shade which is perfect for all skin types, as long as you blend it in and don’t use too much product at once! It doesn’t look thick or patchy on my face and lasts a really long time.

The packaging is small and compact which makes it easy to carry around in my bag. It also comes with a thin brush which means you don’t have to carry around another brush if you didn’t want to. the lid is sealed by a magnet which ensures it won’t open and spill in your bag. The product is also very compact and so there isn’t lots of excess product in the packaging.

Pros and Cons:

Pros

  • It is very pigmented.
  • A little goes a long way.
  • There is a lot of product so it lasts a long time.

Cons

  • It is expensive (£24.50).

Despite it being an expensive bronzer I will definitely be repurchasing as I love it so much and it lasts a really long time which I feel justifies for the expense.

Clinique Chubby In The Nude Foundation Review

Clinique foundation

After struggling to find a good foundation which also matches my skin tone I think I’ve finally found the perfect foundation. I have been using Clinique Chubby in the Nude foundation in the shade 02 and it is so good!

IMG_0894

IMG_0895

It is a very lightweight and sheer foundation which I never thought I would like but I actually really do! Being a stick foundation it has taken some time to get use to and learn how much to apply but I think after about a month now I am getting used to it. Being a cream foundation it is really easy to blend into the skin and if can be built up easily. The shade matched up really well to my natural skin tone and this will be my go-to foundation for the summer as it is a light coverage. It lasts all day and doesn’t become patchy over time.

It is really easy to carry around in your bag and being a stick, cream foundation means it won’t spill in your bag which is an extra bonus!!

Pros and Cons:

Pros

  • Creates a very natural, light coverage, look.
  • Easy to blend in and build up.
  • Lasts a long time.

Cons

  • It is quite expensive (£24).
  • Does not create a full coverage look.

This has become my go-to foundation which I never thought would happen as I love a full coverage foundation!

Maybelline Baby Lips Dr Rescue Review

baby lips dr rescue

I had really dry lips throughout the winter and was looking for a thicker and more nourishing lip balm to help repair my lips. Since rediscovering my love for my Maybelline Pink Punch Baby Lips, I decided to try out the Dr Rescue Baby Lips to try and help.

I have used the Baby Lips Dr Rescue everyday since I got it and it has helped my lips so much! It contains menthol which helps to repair your lips but it isn’t too strong so they don’t sting as some lip balms do. It is clear so only adds a slight shine which I like for everyday. It nourishes my lips and leaves them feeling really soft and smooth. This lip balm also lasts a really long time on my lips and helps keep them nice. I use it throughout the day topping up when I need to or if my lips are feeling a little dry.

img_0893.jpg

Pros and Cons:

Pros

  • Has dramatically repaired my lips.
  • Very affordable (£3.99).
  • Nourishing and hydrating on my lips.

Cons

  • The formula is quite thick and soft which causes a lot of product to come off at once.

They last a really long time and it has been perfect helping me through the winter months. During the winter I used it along side the Lush lip scrub but now as its getting warmer I’m using it on its own and it is still working just as well helping maintain my lips.

Collection Blusher Review

Collection blusher

I was looking through my make up a couple of months ago and found a Collection blush in the shade 04 Trouble. I don’t think I had ever used it before but it was so pretty I have started using it as part of my everyday make up to replace my Sleek palette.

I have been using this blush religiously now for the last couple of months. It is a subtle pink shade which adds a rosy look to my cheeks. What I love most about the blush is that it has a slight shimmer to it which acts as the perfect everyday highlight for when I don’t want to have too much make up on. It can be built up for more of a pinker and shimmery look and can also be used just as a highlight. I think this blush could also act as the perfect shimmery eyeshadow!

IMG_0795

The packaging is extremely compact and easy to carry around. Despite it being small there is actually a lot of product and It looks like it’s going to take me ages to finish it! It is inexpensive and they have lots of different colours in the range with I am definitely going to be checking out, since I’ve fallen in love with this one!

Pros and Cons:

Pros

  • Very affordable.
  • There is a lot of product included.
  • Compact and easy to travel with.

Cons

  • Not very pigmented and has to be built up.

Let me know if you have tried the Collection blushes and what shade you like.

Superdrug BB Cream Review

Superdrug bb cream

For a while I was looking for a good and affordable BB cream which would help my make up last longer and not look crumbly on my face. A few months ago I came across the Superdrug’s 5-in-1 BB Cream.

I have the shade ‘light’ however it is most certainly not light! It leaves my face looking extremely orange! But I haven’t been put off by this as once I put my foundation over the top my face no-longer looks orange and the BB Cream isn’t seen. I apply the BB Cream all over my face and leave it for a couple of minutes to soak in. It stops my foundation coming off and keeps it lasting all day. It also hydrates my skin and reduces redness. I would definitely recommend this as a base or moisturiser but be careful of the colour you choose as they appear a lot darker than expected on the skin.

The packaging is in an easy to use, squeezy bottle and there is a lot of product so it lasts a along time. You only need a small amount of product as a little goes a long way.

pros and Cons:

Pros

  • Reduces redness.
  • The packaging is easy to use and travel with.

Cons

  • The light shade is extremely orange.
  • As a pale person I cannot use it without foundation.

Let me know if you have tried the Superdrug BB Cream and what you thought of it.

Natural Collection Green Concealer Review

Green concealer

When I started to get spots and red patches I looked everywhere to find the best product to hide and conceal them. I came across green concealer and heard that the Natural Collection one was amazing. I was sceptical at first as Natural Collection make up hasn’t worked that well for me in the past. However, I just wanted to hide my redness as quick and easily as possible and the Natural Collection green concealer did just that!

IMG_1062

The concealer is in a stick, cream form which makes it easier to specifically target green areas on your skin. It rubs into your skin but leaves a green tint which counteracts with the redness on your skin. I apply the concealer before I have put on any make up, so that I can cover the green with my usual make up and to avoid any green showing. The green concealer works amazingly and completely covers up my redness once I have applied all my make up. I was extremely surprised at how long the concealer lasts and keeps my redness covered for the whole day!

The concealer is in a small stick which is easy to carry around in case you need to top up throughout the day. It is extremely inexpensive and lasts a long time as you don’t need to use that much. I haven’t tried any other brands because the Natural Collection one works so well!

Pros and Cons:

Pros

  • Very affordable.
  • Covers redness.
  • Covers up redness well.

Cons

  • Does dry out my skin.

I love this green concealer so much! Let me know if you use green concealer and what brand.
