LOC lipstick Review

I love the LOC lipstick by Millie, especially during the summer and autumn months. I do believe it is exclusive to Birchbox but I’m sure you don’t need to be subscribed to the monthly subscription to buy from Birchbox.

The LOC lipstick is a really pretty pale pink shade. It’s not completely matte as it has a slight shine to it. I think the shade would be perfect for all occasions. What I love most is that it’s in a ‘crayon’ applicator than your typical lipstick stick. I think this makes it better to apply as you can almost use it as a lip liner and then fill your lips in as you normally would with a lipstick. You could also use the lipstick as a lip liner as well but it is quite thick. I also think it is a really good shade to create ombré lips with.

The only thing which I would prefer is if it was slightly more pigmented as I do find it wares off throughout the day. As I have a very pale complexion I think the shade looks nice. However, I do feel if your skin tone is darker it may appear a bit too light. This is my assumption based on my experience with the lipstick however I haven’t tested it on other skin tones so I cannot say for sure.

I really like this lipstick as it adds a little something to my lips if I don’t want to go all out in something dark. I also love the application as it is easy to apply and doesn’t smudge.

Pros and Cons:

Pros

  • It is very easy to apply.
  • It is a reasonable price (£9).
  • It lasts a while on my lips.

Cons

  • It isn’t the most pigmented.

Let me know if you have tried and LOC products and what you thought of them!

Model Co Highlighting Trio Review

Model co highlighting trio.jpg

A couple months ago I received the Model Co highlighting trio in my Birchbox. It is the first Model Co product I have tried and I’ve been loving it! There are three shades Champagne, Peach Bellini and Bronze, and they are all cream highlighters.img_0042

I mainly use the champagne shade as it is the perfect highlighting shade for me. Peach bellini is very pink toned so it could be good for adding a shimmer or highlight over your blusher; and Bronze is really good as an eyeshadow.

The consistency is quite thick so it can be difficult to blend it out; I start with a small amount and build it up so it doesn’t look patchy. They are very pigmented and glittery so a little goes a long way! It is great for travelling as it is small and compact.

Pros and Cons:

Pros

  • It is great for travelling.
  • Well pigmented.

Cons

  • I only use one of the shades.
  • The individual shades are expensive (£28).
  • Difficult to blend in.

I’m not the biggest fan of the consistency because it’s very thick. The champagne shade is a really good highlighter but the other shades are just not the best colours. I would recommend it if you like cream products or are looking for a really nice cream highlighter.

L’Oreal Paris Triple Active Nourish Moisturiser Review

L'Oreal moisturiser.jpg

For ages I was looking for a really good moisturiser which would hydrate and protect my skin, as well as allowing my make up to go on smoothly. About a month ago I found the perfect one – the L’Oreal Paris Triple Active Nourish Intense Hydrating Moisturiser.

What I love most about this moisturiser is the consistency. Usually I go for moisturisers in a squeezy tube, but this one is in a pot; this means that the consistency is much thicker. I think this is better for my skin and protects and moisturises it much more.

I only have to use a small amount of product and it goes a long way! I usually apply it after I have taken off my make up in the evening; and my skin is left feeling smooth and hydrated which helps when I apply my make up in the morning. Its neither too thick or oily so I think it would be perfect for all skin types. I have been using it for a while now and I still have lots left.

Pros and Cons:

Pros

  • Very nourishing and hydrating.
  • Great price (£6.49).
  • There is a lot of product in the pot.

Cons

  • It can be a little difficult to get the product out of the pot.
  • It can feel sticky on my skin.

The only difficulty with this moisturiser is the packaging. It is in a jar pot which is perfect in my draw. However, it is difficult to take travelling with me as it is very heavy. I still love the moisturiser and use it every day when I am at home!
