For Christmas my boyfriend got me some Lush products and one thing I asked for was the Lush lip scrub. This was because during the winter and colder months my lips get really sore cracked. No matter how much lip balm I put on nothing is helping them. So I thought I would try the Lush lip scrub because it is made from sugars which helps to scrub away at the cracked and dead skin.
I got the Bubblegum one which smells amazing! It works perfectly on my lips and clears them so quickly leaving them feeling soft. Despite it being a bright pink shade it doesn’t leave a colour which I like because you are then able to put another lip product on afterwards.
The lip scrub is made out of sugar and so you scrub it on your lips (similar to a body exfoliator!) and then you can lick it off afterwards and it tastes quite nice! Of course you can just rub it off if you don’t want to. I like to put it on throughout the day and I just rub it onto my lips, rub my lips together to make sure they are properly scrubbed and left feeling smooth. Finally I just remove the product and my lips are left looking and feeling great! Sometimes I like to put some lip balm on after just for extra protection but I feel as if the lip scrub works perfectly and I don’t need anything else to help them.
I would highly recommend this as nothing else seemed to work for me and from speaking to other people they have the same issue with their lips as I do. At first it does look and feel a bit weird but don’t be put off because it is honestly the best product and so far the only thing which has worked for me.
As it is from Lush it is also nice knowing it is safe, hasn’t been tested on animals and has very few ingredients in. There is actually a lot of product packed in so it should last a long time. The pot is the perfect travel size and easy to carry around in your bag. I did find when travelling the product became a bit loose but you can just press it back into the pot and its fine.
Pros and Cons:
- It removes all the peeling and flaky skin from my lips.
- It allows my lipstick to apply smoother and last longer.
- My lips feel softer.
- It does make my lips look red straight after using it.
Let me know if you have tried any of the Lush lip scrubs before and what you thought of them!
About a month ago I bought some T-Zone nose pore strips; I had never heard of the brand before but they were the only ones in the shop so I thought I would just try them out and if I liked them see if there were other brands in different shops. I wasn’t really sure what to expect I was just hoping for my pores to be cleared out and my nose left feeling smooth and clean.
I was completely impressed with these nose strips, I was surprised by actually how badly clogged up my pores were and it has made me wonder how bad the rest of my skin could be. My nose was left smooth and I actually felt like the pore strip had worked. I wasn’t left with any red patches or a sore feeling on my nose.
It took me a bit of time to work out how to use the strip but I soon realised that your nose has to be wet for the strip to stick. You leave it on for about 10 minutes; and in that time the strip gets harder which can feel a bit uncomfortable or weird! After 10 minutes you have to rip it off, like a plaster! I didn’t think it was too painful as you know its helping your skin.
I wasn’t sure how often you should use them so I did one two weeks later as I do put quite a few products on my nose and I wanted to see how quickly your pores get clogged up again. They weren’t that bad after two weeks so I have decided I will do one every 4-6 weeks. Again I am not too sure if this is too often or not but I guess its just a bit of trial and error!
I looked into the T-Zone brand and saw they also sell face pore strips so I think I will also try them out. The brand isn’t expensive and I think it is completely worth buying as they have worked amazingly for me. As I said these are the first one’s I have tried so there may be better ones, but right now these work perfectly for me.
Let me know what you think of pore strips and what brand you use as I would love to try more out!
Whenever I make New Years resolutions I just expect not to keep them because we all know it an be difficult trying to change. This year, however, I have tried to set myself realistic resolutions to try and make it easier for myself and actually try to stick to them.
To eat healthier – lets not kid ourselves we all know I’m not going to go to the gym or exercise more but just to eat healthier by cutting down on the amount of chocolate and other unhealthy foods can help.
Drink more water – this year I have been quite unwell for not drinking enough; so this year I have decided to try and drink lots more water.
Post more blog posts – I set up a blog because I enjoy reading other peoples and wanted to share with you what I like. I set an unrealistic target of uploading three posts a week; with work and coursework and everything else I do, I just wasn’t able to always post that often. This year I have decided to upload two posts a week which is slightly easier for me to do.
To balance my life – since starting my apprenticeship in November I have found it difficult balancing work with seeing my friends. This year I want to be on top of my coursework and make time to see my friends and just rest and look after myself.
These are my New Years resolutions I would love to hear what some of yours are. At the end of the year I think I will do a review of my year and if I kept up these resolutions.
I thought I would share some things I got for Christmas as I know I like seeing what other people received. If you haven’t already seen I did a post on the stocking fillers, and as I said previously I am in no way showing off and am extremely grateful for everything I got.
The first and one of the only things I actually asked for was a colouring book. This may seem a bit strange if you haven’t heard about them but adult colouring books are extremely popular at the moment and as someone who likes art I really wanted one. I got an Enchanted Forest by Johanna Basford and it is a journey through a forest to find a castle. I really like it as it has lots of complex things to colour and it’s also a story which makes it more interesting. I have slowly been making my way through but am a long way off from finishing.
Another thing I got was a bag; I am completely bag obsessed and so I wanted one that was slightly smaller than my usual bags – which are huge! I also wanted it to be a darker colour for the winter. I got a navy blue bag from Accessorize which fits lots of things inside, including my umbrella! I really like it and will definitely be using it throughout winter!
I got a the Paco Rabanne Lady Million perfume with the body lotion. It smells amazing and I will be getting a lot of use out of it! I think perfume is a really lovely gift to give and receive as they are long lasting and I like finding out new perfumes I like.
Of course it wouldn’t be Christmas without receiving some Primark pyjamas! I got some really nice and soft navy blue ones with a bear on! I prefer to wear shorts so it also came with some matching shorts. Also from Primark I got a really soft Thumper (from Bambi) jumper which has a hood with ears on! It is super fluffy and so comfy to wear.
I hope you liked hearing about what I got for Christmas, please leave me a comment saying what you got as I would love to hear!
